Playroom and Classroom
The Playroom is a large, spacious and bright room which is designed for children to learn through play within the government’s Early Years Foundation Phase for children from three to seven years old. The Playroom offers the children different and exciting learning experiences to help develop all the areas of learning. Craft activities, construction games, small world play, role play, books, sand, water, mark making, play dough, messy play and lots more are always out on offer for the children.
We always endeavour to encourage the children to make their own choices, to become independent thinkers and learners and we believe that all children have the right to make their own decisions.
We also enjoy the benefits of fantastic outdoor space, which is utilised at every opportunity. Bikes, prams, gardening, insect hunting, painting, water and sand play, jumping in puddles, climbing and building dens are just a few of the activities that we do outdoors!
We are also often out and about enjoying our local facilities such as the park, library and beautiful scenery around us. We arrange fantastic activities and trips to places such as the local play centre, pili palas, Penrhyn castle, farms and lots more!
We follow a play curriculum for our children that works towards the desirable learning outcomes. This plan is designed to cover a wide range of activities building on and extending children’s knowledge, experiences and interests and develops their self-esteem and confidence in their ability to learn. We regularly evaluate and review the plans and make sure they meet the needs of each individual child. We pride ourselves on offering the children the best care and quality education.
